Patricia M. Hammelman, 83, of Hartville, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2016 following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Pat was born in Akron, Ohio on July 22, 1933; daughter of the late John and Edna Null. She was employed by Ohio Ceramics in Kent for over ten years. She was involved with oil paintings, ceramics, sewing, porcelain lace dolls and ornaments most of her adult life, leading to the formation of Patina Ceramics. Pat loved bowling, watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports and her favorite team was the Cleveland Indians. She loved her cats, and will be missed by Murphy, her constant companion. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and role model and will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her brothers, Don and Bill Null; and sisters, Maxine Kime, Jean Bibbee, and Janice Waring.
She will be missed by her loving husband of 66 years, George Hammelman; sons, Greg (Martha) Hammelman and Jeff (Bev) Hammelman; daughters, Cherie (Kelly) Rawling and Tina Hill; grandchildren, Ben and Steve Hill, Jeffrey (Angela) Hammelman, Ashley Rawling, Kristy Malicoat; great-grandchildren, Brooke and Josh Malicoat, and Ryder and Lana Hammelman.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
