Olive Belle (Thorne) Gay
Olive Belle (Thorne) Gay 77, went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2015. Olive was born on September 27, 1937 raised in Weston, W.V., and lived in Akron since 1955. She enjoyed playing the piano at church, sewing, cake decorating and crafts. Olive also volunteered preparing taxes, teaching adults to read and reading to the blind over the radio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marguerite Thorne; sisters, Melba Buda and Chiquitha Lancaster; her husband of 47 years, Charles P. "Junior"; and her eldest son, J. Michael Sr. Olive is survived by her children, Rodney (Vicki) Gay, Julie Dietz, David Gay; daughter in-law, Barbara Gay; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As requested by Olive, there was a small graveside service as she was laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery.
