Ola W.(Jean) Christner

Ola W. (Jean) Christner,78, of Tallmadge, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Jean was born in Grantsville, West Virginia on February 6, 1937 to the late William and Virgie Yoak. Jean retired from John Mogen Real Estate after several years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed flower gardening, crossword puzzles and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her two sisters, Martha Abernathy and Mary Summers. She is survived by husband of 33 years, Kenneth C. Christner; six children, Shari (Charlie) Bostaph, Bonnie Hudik (Marty Echols), Mark (Linda) Knight, Tim (Elizabeth) Knight, Kenn (Jennifer) Heard and Brian (Sandy) Heard; 27 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; sister, Hazel Hyland; brothers, Bill (Jennie) Yoak, Dave (Judy) Yoak, Rod (Donna) Yoak, and Dan (Susie) Yoak; sister-in-law, Connie (Bob) Anliker; brother-in-law, Kurt (Leanne) Christner. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Grande Village Manor and Crossroads Hospice for all of the care and compassion given to Jean and her family. Family and friends may call on, Monday, June 29, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11:30am. Interment will follow at 1:45pm in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
