Norma Jean Petty

Norma J. Petty, 83, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026. She was born on January 4, 1943.

Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Denzil and Helen Osborne, and her beloved son, Eric Morris.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Petty; her daughter, Terri Porchowsky; her sister, Dorothy Osborne; and her brothers, Bill (Tina) Osborne and Don (Sandi) Osborne; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Semick. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Michael (Rene) Porchowsky, Nathan (Darcy) Porchowsky, and Amanda (Alex) Bowser; her great-grandchildren, David, Zion, and River Porchowsky; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.

Norma retired from Marc’s after 18 years of dedicated service. In her free time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and coloring. She was also a member of Cottage Grove-EC Church, where her faith was an important part of her life.

Above all, Norma cherished her family. She loved them deeply and spent her life caring for the people she held closest to her heart. Her kindness, love, and devotion to her family will be remembered and carried on through the many lives she touched.

Norma will be deeply missed, but her love and memory will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Thursday, September 3 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., when the funeral service will begin.
