Norma L. Kovach

Norma L. Kovach, 84, of Akron, passed away August 6, 2012. She was born in Monongahela Twp., PA on September 13, 1927 to the late Alvie and Jessie Metcalf. Norma moved to Ohio in 1954 and settled in Springfield Twp. area in 1959. For the last 15 years, she has lived with David and Kimberly in Akron. Norma loved to read, cook and watch the Food Network Channel, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and son, Charles.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (David) Lozier; sons, Barry (Tinker) and Larry (Rona); grandchildren, Bethan, Charles, Dustin, Stephanie, Katie, Barry, Shannon, Jessica, Billy and Bobby; great-grandchildren, Mariah, Carson, Deagan, Caden, Kayla; brothers, Donald and Robert Metcalf.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 9, from 12-2 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Fleary Spurlock officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Make a Wish Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
