Ned Brown

Ned Brown, 92, of Stow, had a change of address on September 8, 2026. He is now in his Heavenly home and his family takes comfort in the scriptures 2 Timothy 4:7

"I have fought a good fight;

I have finished my course;

I have kept the faith."

Ned was born in Fleming, Kentucky on August 19, 1934 to the late Sterling and Doris Brown. Ned's parents wanted a better future for him than a life in the coal mines, so they sent him to live with an aunt and uncle in Kent, Ohio after he finished school.

He met his future wife in Kent and he escorted her to Prom. They married in April of 1954 and were devoted to each other for over 70 years.

Ned and Estella raised settled in Kent to raise their family and he began a 30 year career at the Ford Motor Company, retiring at the age of fifty. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and panning for gold.

Ned's faith was a central feature of his life and he was a founding member of the Kent Free Will Baptist Church, where he made a second family. He remained a faithful member until his homegoing.

Ned was a wonderful husband and father and was delighted to be a grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. His family will miss him greatly but are confident that they will be reunited with him again one day.

In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Brown; son-in-law, Bruce Endlich; and great-grandson, Breck Durieux.

Ned is survived by his loving wife, Estella Brown; children, Denise (Thomas) Riggie, Sandy (Roy) Durieux, Dennis Brown, and Doris Endlich; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 10:30-12 noon, immediately followed by a 12:00 noon funeral service with Pastors Roy Durieux and Kevin Stutler officiating at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Standing Rock Cemetery.
