Nagene Lancaster

Nagene Lancaster, age 90, of Akron, Ohio passed away, peacefully in her home on January 29, 2018.
Nagene is survived by her son; Jerry (Linda) Lancaster, daughter; Brenda, grandchildren; Dawn (Mac) Settipani, Kristy (Jim) Ward, Jason (Renee) Lancaster, great grandchildren; Naomi Lancaster, Wyatt Lancaster, Bethany Ward, Mackenzie Ward, and great-great grandson Eli Nikic, and nephew and nieces; Danny Eade (Pat), Debbie Stern (Fred), Becky Russell (Mike), Carol Rizzo (Ralph) as well as countless other loving family members.

Nagene was preceded in death by George, her loving husband of 68 years, her son; Richard Lancaster, her parents; Myrtle and Roy Provine, her sisters; Ruth Mainwaring, Mildred Eade, and Mary Courter, and best friend; Ida Springsteen. Nagene grew up in Green, Ohio until she married in 1948. She and her husband resided in their Springfield Township home for 65 years, where they raised their three children. They also loved to travel and enjoyed belonging to the Goodyear Camping Club. Nagene was a faithful member of the Springfield Baptist Church for many years. She was also an active member of TOPS, where she made many lifelong friends. Nagene enjoyed spending time with her family and watching the Cleveland Cavaliers. She loved being pampered at the salon, and sharing meals with her furry companion, Sadie.

She was grateful to be able to spend the final years of her life in her own home due to the unwavering love and devotion of her children, Brenda and Jerry (Linda). Nagene was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed! A funeral service will be held on Thursday February 1, 2018 at 12pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Pastor Larry Baldridge officiating. Interment Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at 10am until the time of service.
