Myra Jo White

Myra Jo White, 67, of Akron, passed away on August 17, 2026. She was peaceful, prepared, and happy for this transition.

She was known to family and friends as both "Myra" and "Jo", but her favorite name was "Grandma". She was born in Akron on June 10, 1959 and spent most of her life in the area. After graduating from the University of Akron with a degree in accounting, Myra spent years in the financial industry. Eventually, her heart led her to a career caring for others, and she spent the last years of her work life as a nurse's aide.

When Myra wasn't working, she enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean, bingo nights, and spoiling her eight precious granddaughters. She was very excited for the arrival of her first great-granddaughter.

No one will ever be as brave as Myra. She found a happy ending after every hard episode in her life. A true fighter, Myra never allowed her spirit to get down and she never wore a frown. Her stubborn, independent streak will be a reminder to all of her loved ones to never give up.

Myra will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her children, Amy (Anthony) Lance and Eric (Alexis) White; granddaughters, Brittany White (Davon Wille), Crystal White (Dayne Cronce), Amber (Tyler) Kreis, Destiny Lance, Scarlett White, Tatum White, Primrose White, and Avery White. She also leaves numerous friends and colleagues.

Per Myra's wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately.
