Mildred Y. "Vonnie" Mong, 70, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014. She was born on November 19, 1943 in Beckley, WV. Vonnie was "my beautiful bride" and an inspirational wife, mother and grandmother who served as the 'glue' to her large extended family. She became appreciated, throughout her community, for her zucchini bread and loving generosity.
Vonnie was preceded in death by her father David Miller, daughter Joei Richardson, son-in-law Mark Wehausen, Sr. and brother "Punky" Miller. She is survived by her loving husband Daniel "Grumps" Mong, Sr., mother Alberta Miller, daughters; Alberta "Pettie" Eiseman, Vivian Eiseman, Lynn Wehausen and Tracy Cameron, sons; David Yeager and Daniel Mong, Jr., sister Sharon (Frank) Secord, brothers; David (Karen) Miller and Glenn Miller, 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many other relatives.
Friends and family may call 2-5 pm on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron.
