Mildred "Millie" B. Arnold

Mildred B. Arnold, known lovingly as Millie, was born on September 9, 1927, in Uniontown, Ohio. She lived a life characterized by love, dedication, and service, passing away on June 14, 2025, in Tallmadge, Ohio.

Millie's legacy is marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and community. She proudly served as PTA President for both East High and Goodyear Junior High, nurturing young minds and fostering a sense of belonging among families. A dedicated member of the Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church, she took on the role of elder, exemplifying her leadership and faith. Millie’s passion for education extended to her role as a Sunday school teacher, and she spent many years volunteering at Good Neighbors Food Center, where her compassion touched the lives of many.

Throughout her life, Millie found joy in hosting picnics that brought family together, playing cards, and traveling. She cherished her visits to family in Maryland and held a special fondness for Eastwood Swim Park. She even had the opportunity to ride in the Goodyear blimp, an experience she treasured. One of her fondest memories was visiting Sandbridge Beach in Virginia with her entire family, shortly after her beloved husband, George, passed away, marking a poignant moment of reflection and connection.

Millie is survived by her children, Jerry (Darla), Cliff (Sandi), Ken (Colleen), Becky (Brian), and Laura (Al); daughter-in-law, Kathy; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a special friend and caregiver, Joan Gipson, who provided companionship in her final year.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, George; son, Tom; grandson, Zack; and loving companion, Jack. Millie's greatest pride lay in her six wonderful children, and her wish was to be remembered as a great mom-a sentiment echoed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305) on June 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Her Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM.

Millie Arnold will be remembered for her generous spirit, deep love for family, and significant contributions to her community. Her impact on those around her will be felt for generations to come.
