Mildred Louise Lance

Mildred Louise Lance, 94, entered into eternal rest on July 14, 2022. Born in Akron, Ohio on February 4, 1928, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a longtime member of St. Matthew Parish. Mid enjoyed music, riding the metro bus, babysitting her grandchildren, watching I Love Lucy and Lawrence Welk, Whitmer family picnics and spending time with her family.

Mid was preceded in death by her beloved mom, Claire McVan; husband, Bert Lance; son, Ted; siblings, Sister Margaret Marie McVan, Ethel Smith, Helen Whitmer, Mary Stayer, Ann Lingle, Bill McVan, Dick McVan, Tom McVan. She will be sadly missed by her children, Tim (Terry) Lance, Rick (Barb) Lance, Barb (Mike) Enos; grandchildren, Kevin, Shawn MD., Matt, Katie, Joe, Dan; great grandchildren, Alex, Noah; nieces, nephews and friends.

The family extends a special thanks to Don and Joyce Whitmer, Jerry and Vivian Smith, Sally Lympany for their loving care of Mid, as well as the wonderful caregivers who attended to Mid during the past four years.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral mass will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady Victory Parish, 73 North Ave. in Tallmadge. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Mid's name to Crossroads Hospice.
