Mildred E. Smyth, 94, passed away on June 5, 2015. She was born in Akron on July 12, 1920 to the late Fritz and Helen Niestockel. Mildred was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a lifetime member of the East Market Street United Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents and siblings, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Smyth and daughter, Cheryl Smyth. She will be deeply missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Daryl and Becky Smyth; granddaughter, Jessica Rush-Nagy (Rick); and great-grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Dustin, and Eva Janigian.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 1-2 followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of VNS, c/o Akron General Foundation, 400 Wabash Ave, Akron, OH 44307-2463.
