Miguel "Mike" Noriega, 72, passed away Sunday, October 4th 2015. A resident of Akron, OH, he was born in Yuma, AZ and was raised in Watsonville, CA. Miguel served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant in the Warehouse/Distribution field. While in the service he met his future wife Margaret, whom he married in 1978 and raised four children with in Akron, OH. Upon retirement from the military, he worked for an additional 20 years at the VA Medical Center in Brecksville and then in Cleveland, OH. An avid bowler his entire life, he bowled on many leagues multiple times a week and was proud to have accomplished a 300 game in his lifetime. Miguel was also proud to be a Mexican-American with Yaqui descent, as well as a loyal 49ers and Cleveland Indians fan.
Preceded in death by his father Miguel Noriega of Yuma, AZ, he is survived by his wife, Margie; his children Elena Noriega, Sandi (Dave) Cleavenger, Carla (Earl) McDonald, and son Miguel Noriega; 5 grandchildren; his mother Zoila; brother Tony; sister Arminta (Daniel); and many loving nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 10:30-12:00 followed by a 12:00 noon memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
