Michele S Faulstick (Meyer), 70, died in her sleep at home in Rootstown Ohio due to the complications of Alzheimer’s/Dementia. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, John Faulstick. Michele was born in West Lafayette, Indiana and grew up in Fort Wayne Indiana, graduating from Concordia Lutheran High School and Ball State University. She leaves her 2 children, Andrew Faulstick (Erin) Streetsboro Ohio and daughter Erin Faulstick Rootstown Ohio and 3 grandchildren Paisley Faulstick, Riley Faulstick and Chase Faulstick all of Streetsboro Ohio. Michele also is survived by 2 siblings, sister Kimberly Bushey (Jeffrey) of Tilghman Island, Maryland; and brother Michael Meyer Whitesburg, Georgia.
Preceded in death by her mother Dorothy (Dammeier) Meyer and father Arthur J Meyer of Fort Wayne Indiana.
Michele started her teaching career at Knightstown Memorial School, Knightstown Indiana and then to New Castle Junior High School, New Castle Indiana prior to moving to Ohio. While teaching at Southeast Local Schools, where she began at the middle school in 1980, she completed her Master of Arts Degree at Kent State University in 1984. Michele was Physical Education and Health teacher at Southeast Local Schools, retiring in 2012. While at Southeast she initiated an outdoor education class with her co-teacher and took high school students backpacking, rafting and other outdoor activities.
Michele led a very active life from riding her bicycle 2,000 miles each summer to having a goal of riding her bike in every state, riding in 46 states, with her husband John, prior to the disease manifestation. She and John also camped and traveled in 49 states and most of the Canadian provinces.
Michele actively attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Kent Ohio, where she played the guitar for many services. Michele also was an active participant on the church league softball and volleyball teams.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Kent Ohio or SouthernCare Hospice.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
