Michael Wayne Yovanovich, a vibrant and free-spirited soul who lived life on his own terms, passed peacefully on March 7, 2026. Born in Akron, Ohio, to loving parents Louis Yovanovich and Evelyn Louise Yovanovich, he grew up and spent his life in the city he cherished.A proud graduate of Akron Garfield High School and a dedicated Army veteran, Michael built a rewarding career as a culinary chef. His passion for cooking filled kitchens and hearts alike with warmth, flavor, and generosity. Whether creating meals, exploring new places, or simply enjoying the moment, he moved through the world with an open heart and an adventurous spirit. Those who knew him best remember Michael as vibrant, social, and deeply loyal in his quiet way—a free-spirited yet reserved man who brought laughter and easy camaraderie wherever he went. He found joy in online gaming, reading, listening to music, traveling, writing poetry, and cheering passionately for Cleveland sports, especially football. His stories, his presence, and his independent spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to share in his life.Michael is survived by his sister, Patricia Kolasky, and brother-in-law, Paul Kolasky; his children, Christopher Wayne Yovanovich, Odessa Yovanovich, Melissa Hultzman, Lisa Yovanovich and Lori Yovanovich; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will forever carry his memory. Following his divorce, he embraced his independence and continued to live with the same generous, free-spirited heart that defined him.
On March 7, 2026, beneath a Waning Gibbous Moon in Scorpio—four days past the crimson fire of the Blood Moon eclipse—the sky softened its blaze into a gentle, fading glow, 84% luminous yet bravely letting go.
Michael’s light may have dimmed, but the warmth he shared continues to glow—in every story told, every game played, every meal cooked with love, and every heart that remembers him. Rest easy, Dad. We love you.
