Michael W. Murphy

Michael W. Murphy, 57, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Akron, Ohio on October 9, 1956. Mike dedicated his life to serving the Lord. He was a loving husband and father who cherished his time with his many family members and friends. Mike was an avid runner and worked as Sales Manager for United Surface Finishing, a career which he was passionate about and successful.

Michael was preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Ann Murphy and Uncle, Tom Dugan. He will be greatly missed by his Wife, Connie Murphy, Father, Paul (Joanne) Murphy, Son, Michael (Julie) Murphy, Daughter, Holly (Casey) Meidlinger, Daughter, Patti (James) Davies, Son, Michael (Cindy) Hause, Son, Christopher (Carrie) Hause, Brother, Paul (Irene) Murphy, Brother, David (Annette) Murphy, Sister, Mary (Patrick) Altieri, Grandchildren; Matthew (Tiffany) Davies, Mark (Sarah) Davies, Luke Davies, John Davies, Michael Hause, Nick Hause, Payton Hause, Jack Murphy, Maci Meidlinger and one on the way, Great-Grandchildren; Parker, Brady, Riley and Addison and one on the way, along with many Nieces, Nephews and Relatives.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and 5:30 pm-8:00 pm at Maranatha Bible Church, 1424 Killian Rd, Akron, OH 44312. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 12, 2014 at the church with visitation one hour prior. The family requests no flowers; donations may be made in Mike's memory to Armor of Hope Minsitries, 748 NE Ave, Tallmadge, OH 44278 or to Broken Chains Prison Ministry through the church.
