Michael Patrick Lavery "Mickey"

Michael Patrick Lavery "Mickey", 49, passed away peacefully June 20, 2026 surrounded by his four children. Born in Akron, Ohio to James "Michael" and Betty (Brobst) Lavery, he was a lifelong area resident. Mickey was proud of his Irish heritage and he always enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns while eating his Fiesta pizza, reminiscing on his days as a youth baseball coach, giving (self taught) haircuts to his sons, discussing current events and spending time with his family and his cats, King and Queen.

Mickey will be sadly missed by his children, Michael Lavery, Katie Lavery, Brandon Lavery, Joshua Lavery; granddaughter, Sadie Lavery; parents, Michael and Betty Lavery; sisters, Carrie (Jeff) Doak, Christi (Lonnie) Kammer; nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Summa ICU for their loving care of Mickey.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please honor Mickey's memory by doing an act of kindness for someone in need.
