Michael Kenneth Sklarek
Michael Kenneth Sklarek, 59, of Akron, passed away on September 3, 2016. He was born in Lorain, OH and was a graduate of Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst, OH. Mike owned and operated Sklarek Appliance for many years. He also worked in management at Sea World of Ohio and eventually retired from Circle K in 2014. Mike was a diehard Cleveland sports fan. He was a season ticket holder for the Cleveland Browns through many painful years. His devotion to Cleveland sports was highlighted by the CAVS championship. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and traveling with his wife, Joyce.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Denise. Mike leaves to cherish his memory, loving and devoted wife, Joyce (nee Allison); sons, Jason (Emily), Todd (Jennifer); grandchildren, Jonathan, Annabelle, Joseph, William "Liam" and Levi; parents, Mary and Kenneth Sklarek; brother, David (Joanne); and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Family will receive friends on Thursday September 8, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Funeral service will be held on Friday September 9, 2016 at 11am at the funeral home.
