Michael J. Kachovec Jr.

Michael J. Kachovec Jr., 66, went home to be with the Lord on October 31, 2016. He was a Vietnam Veteran and an active member in the veteran community. Mike retired from Akron Public Schools. He was a man with a taste for the simple pleasures and joy in life, asking for little and taking less. Mike had a love for his Victory motorcycles, mother nature, good coffee, and new destinations waiting over the next horizon. Mike only wanted to see those around him happy, and it was his greatest joy when their happiness became so.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his girlfriend and best friend in life, Pamela Halcomb; son, Steven; siblings, Steven, Tina (Mark) Akers, Joe (Peg), and Bob; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00am with a wake to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any Veterans organization of your choice.
