Michael Aaron Fickert of Akron Ohio passed away suddenly on April 24th 2026 at the age of 32, in his hometown. Michael, aka "Mikey", was born on January 11th, 1994 to Michael Garret Fickert and Melissa Ann Fickert in Barberton, Ohio at 7:05pm.
Mikey was preceded in death by his beloved "Opa" Joe Fickert, "Grandpapa" Garry Allen, aunt Lorrie Gobrogee, and his best friend from grade school, Mitchell and good friend from Florida Josh.
Mikey is survived by his parents Michael and Melissa Fickert; sisters Erica (David) Conti and Kristen (Michael) Joiner; beautiful nieces Isabella and Brianna Joiner; amazing "Nana" Joanne Lawther; "Grandmama" Linda Allen; grandparents Sandy and Ronnie Randles; many aunts and uncles who he loved so deeply, Eric and Jeff (Mary) Lawther, Rebecca (Craig) Rutt, Stephanie Vanmeter, Brian (Dawnette) Lawther, Brandy (Shane) Haman, Alan (Claudia) Horst, Dustin (Karen) Shaffer, and Paul Hill; lifelong friend and cousin, Daniel (Caitlin) Dickerson; his best friend of over twenty years Joe McGonigal; and his two cats Daisy and Peach whom he loved more than anything.
Mikey attended High School at Coventry High School in Ohio and later graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School, Class of 2012 in Florida. He went on to become a certified fire and security technician in EST3 Series. Mikey was more recently employed working with his dad for the family business, Akron Canton Roadside Assistance, as a roadside technician specialist.
Mikey was intelligent, creative, resilient, and passionate about loving his friends and family. He enjoyed hobbies including watching movies, gaming, listening to music and playing guitar. He loved the beach, going to concerts, and spending quality time playing cards and laughing. One of his favorite activities was spending long days on the ocean, deep sea fishing with his dad in Florida.
Mikey will be remembered by his infectious laugh, bright smile, and his heart of gold. He brought love to many, and his parents Michael and Melissa are beyond proud and will love him forever, wishing him to rest in peace, until they meet again.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday April 29th, 2026 at Cherry Blossom Banquet Hall 735 E. Cherry St. Canal Fulton, OH. 44614 from 4pm-8pm.
