Michael William Albright

Michael W. Albright, 75, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2026.

He was born in Highland Park, MI on May 1, 1951 to Jack and Dorothy(Nettle) Albright and grew up in Garden City, MI.

Michael graduated from Garden City West High School and joined the United States Navy shortly after graduation. He served as active duty from 1969 to 1973, serving in Vietnam. He was a part of the Naval Reserves from 1973 to 1975 and received a National Defense Service Medal. He then attended Henry Ford Community College, where he studied Accounting while working in Dearborn, MI.

Michael moved to Denver, Colorado, where he met the love of his life, Gina. They were married in 1984 and had their first child in 1986. Shortly after, they moved to Akron, Ohio and had their second child in 1989. He worked in a CPA firm for 25 years and retired in 2017.

He was a quiet man, but he was a very loving, dedicated husband and father. He always made sure his family was taken care of and he protected us in a strong, thoughtful manner. He absolutely adored his wife, children and grandchildren, and made sure to leave no doubt about it. He found his joy in spending time with his family-that was his ultimate happy place. He loved to watch football and golf, playing golf when the opportunity arose. He and his daughter share the spot for being the number one Broncos fan, which he incorporated into his every day attire. Every summer, especially after retirement, was spent on camping trips and site-seeing around the country. He and his wife have visited several National parks and landmarks and have also made a few special trips just to get a taste of the local food, especially focusing on BBQ. In 2017, they made a trip back to Denver to relive their fondest memories of the start of their beautiful life together. Michael and Gina were married for 42 1/2 years and were inseparable. They enjoyed attending all of the local festivals and concerts, going on walks with their dog, Chloe, playing bingo every Friday at the local Community Center, where he was usually the caller, and tending to their beautiful home and yard/garden together. The family’s favorite holiday is Halloween and yes, Michael still dressed up, following themes that Gina picked out. She hit it spot on with last year’s theme - He was the Gomez to her Morticia. The pain of this loss will never go away and he will be forever loved and missed by Gina, their children and their grandchildren. Nothing can compare to the love that was shared for over 44 years and the absolutely perfect life that was built by Michael and Gina. If anyone has a marriage even 1/4 as wonderful and romantic as theirs, they would be truly blessed.

Michael was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his parents Jack and Dorothy, his brothers David and Paul, brothers-in-law Rick, Alex, Terry and Larry, nephews Jason and Timmy, and niece Cassy.

He is survived by his soulmate and loving wife, Gina, their children Jentra(Adam) Towne and Bryan(Ethan) Albright, and grandchildren Jayson and Jenica Towne. He is also survived by his brothers Steve(Donna) and Phil(Kitty), sisters Janet, Marge(Fred), Diane, Julia, Sue(Frank), Katie(Ken), Lisa(Jim) and Lora, sister-in-law Shelly, along with his very close cousins Dennis and Kathy Zanavich, who were “adopted” into the Albright branch of their mother’s family. Michael also leaves behind countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and family friends.
