Michael A. Sowers "Tubby", 63, passed away on February 1, 2015.
He was born in Akron on February 27, 1951 to the late James and Isola Sowers. Michael retired from Tramonte Distribution and was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Masons. He loved all kinds of music, especially the Blues. Michael loved being around people and making them smile. He was a true lover of life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry; and numerous aunts and uncles. Survivors include his devoted and loving wife, Sandra; his children, Donna (Eric) Watson, James (Crissy) Sowers, and Sara Sowers and her daughter, Nevaeh; stepchildren, Jason Ridenour, Jeremy (Roxanne) Sears, Shelly (Kyle) Cagle, and Ryan Sears; 14 other grandchildren, whom he loved dearly; sister, Sandee (Terry) Fritz; brother, David (Jodi) Sowers; and many dear friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday, 5-8 p.m. and Friday, 10-11 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please bring your favorite photo of Michael for display on a memory board (they will be returned).
