Merlin R. Magrell, 75, was reunited again with his loving wife of 38 years, Charlotte, on January 26, 2017. He was born October 7, 1941 in Uniontown, OH and was a lifelong resident of the Akron area. Merlin was a Marine Corp veteran and retired after 30 years of dedicated service in the trucking industry and a proud Teamster member. He enjoyed trips to the Rocksino, Mountaineer and Vegas, was an avid golfer, loved camping, horse racing, going to the gym, and eating pizza and wings at Chuckie's. Merlin also enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his grandkids.
Merlin was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rachel; daughter, Crystal; brothers, Bill, Bob, Jack and Bud. He is survived by sons, Greg (Elizabeth), James (Debbie) Misock; daughters, Michelle Iseri, Kelly (Ron) West; grandchildren, Levi, Crystal, Kourtney, Ryan, Jessica, Hannah and Emilee; great-grandchildren, Emmerson and Melody; brothers, Jim and Larry (Betty); sister, Shirley (Klet) Freeland; and longtime friends, Ed, Dave and Gary.
Family will welcome friends for a celebration of life to be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 6:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH. Visitation will be held from 3-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Battered Women's Shelter of Summit County or placing a bet on your favorite horse in his honor. The family would like to extend a special thank you to "Neighbor Ed" for his care and compassion.
