Merle Jay Wodicka, 49, of Akron, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on August 5, 2022. He was born in Akron on June 27, 1973 to Rocky and Mary Wodicka. Merle owned his own tree service company. He was excellent at his job and loved his work. In his free time, Merle enjoyed riding his Harley and singing karaoke. He had many friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Merle is now reunited with his grandparents, Merle and Dawn Wodicka and Edna Rader; uncles, George and Dan Wodicka; and aunt, Margaret Hall.
He is survived by his beloved parents, Rocky and Mary Wodicka; his children, Sarah (Ted) Hyatt, Dylan (Gabby) Wodicka, and Cheyenne Foster; siblings, Tina (Joe) Brown, George Wodicka, and Rocky Wodicka II; grandchildren, Paisley, Brynlee, Lakota, Nova, Liam, and Kyrin; uncles, Bill, James, Joe, and Jack Rader; nieces and nephews, Michaelle Wodicka, Jessica Workman, Kristina Workman, Rachel Wodicka, Jeanette Fancher, Rocky Wodicka, Kylie, Wodicka, and Race Wodicka. He also leaves his wife, Ericka Becker-Small.
Per Merle's wishes, cremation will take place. To honor Merle, a breakfast (Big John's farm breakfast) will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Friendly Tavern, 1940 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44314. Following breakfast, family and friends are welcome to join the memorial ride which will end with a celebration of life party in Copley, which was all Merle wanted for his birthday but couldn't have.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Akron Bible Church.
