Merle Louise King

Merle Louise King, 79, of Tallmadge, passed away on May 10, 2026. She was born in Uler, WV on July 8, 1946 to the late Kenneth and Ethel {Drake} Smith.

In addition to her parents, Merle was preceded in death by her sisters Eloise (Bob) Estep and Wanda (Cecil) Harler.

Merle is survived by her loving husband, Earlie; sons, Gene (Cathy) and Eric (Annmarie) King; grandchildren Alicia (Austin), Liam, Gavin, Michael (Emily), Timothy and Dominic (Arizona); great-grandchildren Declan, Maisie, Elliot, Ezra, Mars and Cleo; brother Tom (Barb) Smith; many nieces and nephews.

Merle had a passion for quilting, and loved her flowers. She lovingly tended her garden over the years, and filled her family's homes with handmade quilts and keepsakes.

Her family was the center of her world, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids.

Family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Friday, May 15th from 12:00 p.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service begins.
