Mary E. Zorn

Mary E. Zorn, 105, of Akron, passed away on June 7, 2025. She was born on April 4, 1920 the daughter of James and Beatrice Jones of Bedford, PA. She was a woman of great faith and was a member and a Deacon of New Horizons Christian Church. She was always willing to help other especially at the Free Will Luncheon serving those at the church and surrounding community. She retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a telephone and switchboard operator at Akron City Hospital. She was an avid Indians/Guardian fan always cheering them on. Mary enjoyed cooking for the family where everyone looked forward to a side of "mashed potatoes". Mary always was happy to receive flowers. Mary had many accomplishments but her greatest was her love of family.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas, Robert, John "Jack", and Donald; daughter Dorothy Fuson; and granddaughter Brianna Fuson.

Mary is survived by her loving family, daughter Deborah (Chris) Haren; grandchildren Michael Fuson, James Fuson, Melissa Fuson, David (Susan) Haren, and Laura (Gordon Richmond) Haren; 14 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 16th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and Tuesday, June 17th, from 12:00 to 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held Tuesday at 1:00pm.

Entombment will be held at Hillside Memorial Park.
