A life well lived, surrounded by family Mary Velka, 83, passed away peacefully in her home on August 26, 2026.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on August 3, 1943, to Robert and Ida Biesemeier. Mary graduated from Hudson High School in 1961 and went on to earn her BA in Chemistry from Kent State University.

Mary worked for The Harwick Chemical Co. for over 30 years where she made many lifelong friends, where she was best known for her quick wit, talent and great after work parties on her back deck. We will never forget the summer of the great pumpkin patch parties. Mary had a beautiful life filled with so many wonderful adventures, friend and four legged critters. She always said her next stop would be the Rainbow Bridge to see her critters.

Mary is proceeded in death by many family members who are with her now. She is survived by her children John (Thalia) Teichman, Teri (Dan) Green, her faithful companion Buddy and her beloved nieces Erika, Emily and Kaylee.

A private scattering service will be held at a later date.

Please take a moment, grab a glass of wine and remember the good times of a life well lived. Mary is now at peace and hanging out with her curly tail gang at the Rainbow Bridge.
