Mary Elizabeth Schafer, "Liz", age 31 of Kent, Ohio, formerly of Akron, went home to be with the Lord, unexpectedly, on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 5:00 PM at her home.
She was born on July 29, 1985 in Norfolk, VA, the daughter of Keith Schafer of Alliance and Teresa Ford of Akron.
Other than her parents, Miss Schafer was a loving mother to two surviving daughters, Baylee and Rylee Twigg of Ravenna, and her children's father, Joseph Twigg; her siblings, Sarah Owen-Hammad, Jeffrey Schafer, Stephen Balogh, and John Balogh; her niece and nephews, Marissa Owen, Tommy Schafer, and Timmy Schafer; her grandparents, William and Carolyn Menosky of New Smyrna Beach, FL; several aunts, uncles, and cousins survive.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 4:00 PM, where Pastor Gary W. Hunt will celebrate Mary's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
