Mary Alice Maddox

Mary Alice Maddox, 85, passed away January 2, 2021. Born in Akron, Ohio she was lifelong area resident. Mary previously worked as a seamstress for ATCO Surgical Supplies. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and being around children. She was active in both the Brownies and Girl Scouts organizations as well as the PTA. Mary also loved baking, flowers, gardening, camping and boating.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Billy Joe Maddox; siblings, Mel, Marge, Grace, Gerald, Newt, Wes. She will be sadly missed by daughters, Debbie Lewis, Becky Maddox, Patty Zupko; granddaughters, Holly Taylor (Emily Pierce), Lindsey Zupko (Ben Skinner); siblings, Jean, Bert, Ruth (Bob), Judy; sister in-law, Jeannine; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, January 15, 2021 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. An informal service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Mary's name to the Alzheimer's Research organization of their choice.
