Mary Jo McKay

Mary Jo McKay, 70, of Akron, passed away on September 22, 2025. She was born on December 29, 1954 to the late Mark and Mary Eileen {Droppleman} Flesher.

Mary Jo is survived by her loving husband, Edward; daughter, Heather McKay; sister, Judy Heidbrider; nephews William McKay, Daniel and David Heidbrider.

Mary Jo was a long time member of St. Matthew Parish. She retired from Goodyear Tire after 30 years of service in accounts payable. In her free time, Mary Jo enjoyed scrap-booking, cooking and singing karaoke with Ed. Spending time with her family was always her favorite past-time, especially family gatherings and holidays.

Mary Jo had always left a piece of her heart in West Virginia, where she would spend childhood summers.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Sunday, September 28th from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2580 Berne St. Akron, OH 44312 on Monday, September 29th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Michael Williamson officiating.
