Mary Jane Berry

Mary Jane Berry, 86, of Springfield Twp., passed away June 16, 2014. She was born in Mineral Ridge, Ohio on July 7, 1927 to the late Stanley and Susan Owen.

Mary Jane taught 26 years at Young Elementary School in Springfield Twp. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, was past president of Kappa Kappa Iota Sorority and past president of ABWA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorwin; brother, Leroy; sister, Dorothy. Mary Jane is survived by her sons, David and Ron (Nancy); 2 grandchildren, Melissa (Bret) Fries and Andrew; 5 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call on Friday, June 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. An Eastern Star Memorial Service and a Kappa Kappa Iota Memorial Service will be held during the calling hours. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
