Mary E. Gaskins

Mary E. Gaskins, a beloved wife and cherished friend, died peacefully and awoke in her Heavenly home on November 26, 2025, in Ravenna, Ohio. Born on July 5, 1950, in Akron, Ohio, Mary touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and kind heart.

Mary was a proud graduate of Ellet High School and continued her education at Kent State University. Her thirst for knowledge was only matched by her love for life, adventure, and the people around her. Over her 45 years of marriage, she stood by the side of her soulmate, Garry, creating countless cherished memories together that will live on in his heart forever.

Mary had a beautiful soprano voice that filled church halls with joy. She loved to sing, sharing her talent with those around her, which brought comfort and inspiration to many. Her kind nature extended beyond her vocal gifts; she was always the first to lend a helping hand or offer a warm smile to those in need.

An avid traveler, Mary found joy in exploring new places and creating unforgettable memories through camping trips filled with laughter. Her adventurous spirit was complemented by a deep love for nature, often taking long walks in the park with Garry and their beloved four-legged kids. Those strolls were not just moments of leisure, but sacred times of connection and joy, where the simplicity of life shone the brightest.

Mary’s generous heart and genuine compassion for others will be profoundly missed. She left an impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. As she embarks on her final journey, we celebrate her life and the beauty she brought into the world.

A visitation will be held in her memory at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron, Ohio, on December 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM until noon, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Final resting place is Tallmadge Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to honor Mary's remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and light.

Although Mary has passed, her legacy of kindness and warmth will continue to inspire all who knew her. She may be gone, but she will never be forgotten.
