Mary E. Heath, passed away March 14, 2014 in Naples, Florida. She was born May 3, 1914 in Daleville, Alabama to Daniel and Anna (Harris) Pouncey. She met Frank Heath and they married in Akron on May 2, 1936. They raised their family in Akron and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Mary loved to play cards with her friends on the weekends. She was an excellent baker and made several beautiful quilts throughout her life. Those who met Mary were always greeted with a friendly smile and a hug. Her generosity towards others will always be remembered.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Heath and son, Robert Heath. She is survived by her children, Brenda Wood and Anna (Bud) Congrove; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, March 19 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Carr officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
