Mary Ann Steinmetz

Mary Ann Steinmetz, 85, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.

Born on November 22, 1940, Mary Ann lived a life centered on love, kindness, and family. She had a beautiful smile that could brighten any room and a remarkable gift for making everyone she met feel like they belonged. Whether you were family, a friend, or someone she had just met, Mary Ann welcomed you with warmth, compassion, and an open heart.

She was a mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Covan; her grandchildren, Michelle Malcolm, Joey Maddox, and David Covan; her great-grandson, Asher; and her sister, Gloria Sellers.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Schmeiser, and her sister, Margaret Mason.

She will also be fondly remembered for her love of teddy bears, a collection that reflected the warmth, comfort, and gentle spirit she shared so freely with others. Her home, like her heart, was always full of love.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the kindness she showed, and the unconditional love she gave will remain with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and in the countless lives she touched with her generous spirit.

At this time, no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life to honor Mary Ann's memory will take place at a later date, with details to be shared with family and friends when available.

Mary Ann will forever be loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
