Mary Ann Mccallum

Mary Ann McCallum, 59, of Akron, passed away August 27, 2014. Mary was born in Akron , Ohio on November 18, 1954 to the late Edward and Lillian Scarpinito. Mary Ann was employed at the Mustard Seed and Tops. She will be remembered for her kind heart, laughter, and love of nature and birds. Mary Ann was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Gary Thomas. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Denny of 35 years; daughters, Megan (Jerod) Plovic and Ashley McCallum; the light of her life grandchildren, Lilli and Trevor Plovic; sister, Judy Thomas; brother-in-laws, Pete, Tom, Rich (Marty) and Pat (Becky) and a host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, from 5pm to 8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception of Mary Parish, 2101 17th St. Akron with Fr. Sam Ciccolini as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
