Mary Ann Alfman

Mary Ann Alfman, 89, of Springfield Twp., passed away April 9, 2014. She was born in Steubenville, OH on August 4, 1924 to the late Michael and Sophia Rachel. Mary Ann was employed at Goodyear Aircraft as a "Rosie the Riveter" building Corsair aircraft. She retired in 1986 from Rogers Mfg. as an inspector.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; son, Dale and son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Marlene. Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Karen (Tom) Pressler; grandchildren, Mike (Jodi), Doug, Michelle and Addy; great-grandchildren, Seth, Alec, Cori, Kenzi, Jessie and Mitch; sister, Margaret (Phil) Muhl; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank St. Lukes Lutheran Community staff for their wonderful care of Mary Ann.

A private family service will be held on Monday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. with calling hours one hour prior at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In liew of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Luke Lutheran Community, 615 Latham Ln., Akron 44319.
