Marple W. Riffle, 95, passed away January 10, 2015. He was born in New Martinsville , West Virginia on November 8, 1919 to the late John and Beulah Riffle. Marple was in the U.S Army during WWII as a Sergeant in the 33rd Division, serving in the Philippines and Japan. He was a devoted servant for Christ and was a member of First Church of God in Tallmadge, where he served on many boards and taught Sunday School for over 20 years. Marple was coordinator of JoAnns Food Pantry mission in Goodyear Heights for 23 years. Marple owned Wilbeth Auto Sales in Kenmore for 26 years retiring in 1982. Along with his and Violets passion for fishing, Marple loved bee keeping, his apple orchard and garden. Most of all he loved helping people in any way he could. In addition to his parents, Marple was preceded in death by his loving wife Violet (nee Crawford); daughter, Anna Lee Shobe; brothers, Kermit, David, George and Robert Paul; sisters, Deloris, Helen and Jane. He is survived by daughter, Alice Faye Ajir; sister, Leona Reed; four grandchildren, Gordon, Komron, Tracy, and Leslie; several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. Additonal calling hours will be held on Thursday, January, 15, 2015 from 10 to 11am at the First Church of God Tallmadge, 464 Northeast Ave. Tallmadge, Ohio 44278 where funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:30pm in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, 3655 Wales Ave. NW Massillon Ohio 44646.
