Mark Allen Hillyard

Mark Allen Hillyard, 70, of Tallmadge, passed away surrounded by his family at home on September 13, 2025. He was born on August 22, 1955 to the late Frank and Asuemania {Perolis} Hillyard.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his son Eric Hillyard and brother Dan Hillyard.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; children Mark (Sarah) Hillyard, Tina (Rich) Burgan and Nick (Jamie) Hillyard; daughter-in-law Jennifer Sopko; grandchildren Tyler Dolan, Blake and Sydney Hillyard, Kyle and Kaylee Burgan and Paisley Hillyard; brother Kenneth (Debbie) Hillyard; brother-in-law Rod (Angie) Kuchenbecker; many nieces and nephews.

Mark drove truck cross country for 40 years, and took great pride in his rig. His love of the road often found him out on his motorcycle in his free time. He and Brenda enjoyed going to the casino together. Mark and his father Frank also enjoyed their hunting trips to southern Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Mark and Brenda raised pigs and cows on their property, and he maintained a successful garden. The pigs and his brother-in-law Rod got Mark into some trouble over the years, and his family still laughs at the memories!

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Friday, September 19th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., when the funeral service will begin. Interment to follow the service at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, where Mark will be laid to rest next to his parents.
