Mark Elliot Gilbert, 74, of Akron, passed away on August 18, 2026 at Highland Square Rehab & Nursing.
He was born on May 21, 1952 to Jacob and Sylvia Gilbert in Akron, OH.
Mark worked as a Glazer for the City of Akron Schools.
On September 16, 1978 , he married Deborah Ann Walkley. Mark and Deborah lived in Akron, Ohio.
Mark loved to watch football, help people, and being in the outdoors.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Deborah Gilbert; nieces, Kaitlyn, Crystal, Angel, Mya, and Amera; nephew, Jeffrey; and brother-in-law, Donald.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia and Jacob Gilbert; nephew, Donnie; and brother-in-law, Jim.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, 10:30 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Akron, Ohio with a funeral ceremony at 11:30am.
Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026 1:45 pm in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery .
