Marjorie Mae Sayre

Marjorie Mae Sayre, age 86 of Akron, Ohio, died on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 15, 1932 in Nelsonville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Pearl and Joanne (nee Derrington) Windle.

Marjorie was a homemaker who enjoyed playing yahtzee, crocheting, and visiting with friends and family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Darlene Etheridge, Debra (Robert) LaDow, John (Carol) Sayre, and Duanita (Troy) Roberson; her 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; and her dear friend, Alvin Sayre.

Other than her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Sayre on January 4, 2007, they were united in marriage on November 26, 1955; her daughter, Diane L. Robison; her son-in-law, David A. Etheridge; her grandson, Abel Etheridge; her siblings are also deceased, Bessie Bettes, Ruth Sickler, Robert Windle, Hazel Windle, and RayWindle. She was also preceded in death by her loyal dog, Blue.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.

Family and friends may visit on Monday from 2:30 - 4:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
