Marjie A. Steinly, age 87 of Akron, Ohio, died on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 5:37 AM at Fairlawn Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born on February 25, 1930 in Akron, the daughter of the late Robert and Lula Mankamyer Steinly, Sr.
Marjie was a clerk for many years at Curtis' Grocery Store in Kenmore. She also worked at Scotts and Woolworth in downtown Akron. Marjie enjoyed crafting plastic canvas, and she loved her cats.
She had attended Calvary Baptist Church and her church family was very faithful in visiting with Marjie.
Survivors include her siblings, Bernard Steinly, Harold Steinly, and Carol (Vince) Pavlik; and many nieces and nephews. Marjie was a very kind and very generous aunt and great-aunt.
Other than her parents, Marjie was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Steinly, Jr., Paul Steinly, and Annabelle Mitchell; and her sisters-in-law, Margaret Haver Steinly and Margaret Wilson Steinly.
A short funeral service will take place at 5:00 PM, Monday, May 1, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where friends and family may visit from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Fairlawn Nursing and Rehab Center for taking such great care of our beloved Marjie.
