Marilyn Lukac (nee Hughes aka Izad and Raben) 81, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from an extended illness. Marilyn worked as a librariarian at the Teheran American School and the University of Akron Bierce Library as well as in the patient information departments of St. Thomas Hospital. She belonged to the Toastmasters Club as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Proceeded in death by her parents, Esther and John Russell Hughes, her sister, Mildred Boger, her brothers, Donald, John, and David Hughes, and her former husband, Dick Raben. She leaves behind her husband, Daniel Lukac; sons, John (Amir) Izad and Nader Izad; granddaughter, Julia Izad; step-children, Kathy Bishir, Terry Lukac, Dan Lukac Jr. III and Teresa Roode; nieces, Maryann, Jane, Linda, Diane and Debra; nephews, Steven, Richard, and Gregory; several great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Special thanks to Kisha and Lisa at Manor Care and the staff at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center for their efforts. She will always be remembered by her warm smile, her contagious laugh and her ability to light up the world wherever she went. Family and friends may call on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 4 to 6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd Akron with funeral service will follow at 6pm with Rev. John Telloni officiating.
