Marilyn Thorne Heltzel, 80, of Green, died August 5, 2015. She was born October 4, 1934 to Minor and Ethel Thorne. Marilyn graduated from Akron East High School and Akron University. She was a teacher at South and East High Schools.
She was preceded in death by parents; infant sister; and husband, Richard Heltzel. She is survived by son, Lee Heltzel; best friends: sister, Janet Evans and brother, Jack (June) Thorne; granddaughters, Khari and Morrigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visiting hours will be Friday, August 7, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
