Marie A. Mason, 53, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2014. She was born in Barberton on December 14, 1960 to the late William and Ellen Monk. Marie graduated from Springfield High School in 1980. She devoted her life to her family. In her free time, she loved to go antiquing and had a collection of teapots.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Monk.
She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 35 years, James Mason; children, Jennifer (Chris) Bolden, Pamela Mason, Roger Mason, and Alicia (Tim) Norris; siblings, William D. Monk, Robert (Carolyn) Monk, James (Sandra) Monk, and Jeffery Monk; grandchildren, Dylan, Genevieve, Ashton, Julie, and Sierra; great-granddaughter, Lillian; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and her beloved cats.
Family and friends may call on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery in Uniontown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marie's family.
