Margaret Ann Capes

Margaret Ann Capes, "Margie" 75, joined the Communion of Saints on Saturday January, 17, 2015 after bravely battling a prolonged illness. She graduated from South High in 1957 and was also a graduate of the University of Akron. Margaret selflessly devoted her life to her husband of 49 years, their two children and her faith. She was an incredible cook and former elementary school teacher whose kindness impacted everyone she met. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, French and Margarete Cochran. She is survived by her husband, Michael Capes; son, Mike Capes; daughter, Julie Hourigan and sister, Sandra Keith as well as numerous extended family and friends and her close cousin Ginny. Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Parish, 2643 Waterloo Rd. Mogadore, OH. 44260 with Rev. Fr. Thomas Acker as celebrant. Burial will directly follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
