Marcie Tracy, 71, passed away on May 7th, 2026, leaving behind a life woven with love, laughter, and more fabric than most people see in a lifetime. She was the beloved wife of Tom — “T,” as she called him — whose devotion to her, especially in her final years, was a love story in its own right.

Marcie built a career as a nurse — a calling that suited her perfectly, because caring for people was simply what she did. As a hospice nurse, we asked her how she could watch people die all the time; she told us it gave her great pride to ensure people were at peace and not alone when they passed. She was the kind of person who could make you feel better just by being in the room, whether she was checking your vitals or making you laugh with a joke you probably shouldn’t repeat at church.

Marcie was a woman of many talents. She sewed her children’s clothes when they were young and spent her later years channeling that same patience and creativity into quilting — transforming scraps of fabric into something lasting and warm, much like she did with the people around her. She had a dark sense of humor that could catch you off guard and a laugh that made everything feel a little lighter. She loved the ocean, the sound of the waves, and the feeling of salt air — and she never missed a chance to be near the water.

Her world, though, revolved entirely around three people: her grandchildren Dominic (wife Sarah with the H), Izzy, and Gabby. To know Marcie was to know that those names came up in every conversation, often within the first two minutes.

And if you wanted to find her shopping for holiday decor, chances are good she was at Cracker Barrel — cheerfully surrounded by all that noisy décor she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Millie, and her beloved sister Diane, whose absence she carried quietly.

Marcie is survived by her devoted husband Tom; her children Michelle (fiancé Chris), "Poor" Laura (husband Tom), and her son David — known to everyone who loves him as Bud; her cherished stepson Timmy (partner Thomas), whom she loved as her own; and her grandchildren Dominic, Izzy, and Gabby, along with additional grandchildren and stepchildren. She is also survived by her sister Susan (husband Dave and special niece, "Baby Rachel") and her brother David (wife Chris), along with numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was many things to many people — a nurse, a quilter, a beach lover, a woman with a one-liner ready for any occasion. But above all, she was Mom and Nana/Grandma, and that was the role she was born to play.

Services to be announced. The family is grateful for any support toward Mom’s medical expenses during this difficult time.
