Marcia Jensen

Marcia V. Jensen, 92 fulfilled her greatest wish to be reunited with her dearly loved husband, Skip on May 16, 2016. She was born October 26, 1923 in Beaverdam, OH. Throughout her life, she resided in Elyria, Lakewood, Akron, and a few other communities in northern Ohio, and briefly, in Deming NM and Happy TX. Along with Skip, she traveled to many places in the world. She first met Skip in her Methodist youth group and was active in the Methodist church throughout her life.

Marcia was an accomplished pianist, prolific oil painter, and craftswoman, passing on many of her artistic talents to children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her art, she was known for her quiet patience, quick wit, amazing command of the English language, and loving ability to promote unity. She will be deeply missed!

Marcia was preceded in death by her brother, Marc Steele; parents, Eugene and Bessie Steele; husband, Neal "Skip" Jensen; brothers, Howard and Robert Steele. She is survived by brothers, Fred and Ed Steele; son, Jim (Ellie) Jensen; daughter, meg (Brent) Andersen; grandchildren, Jim (Jennifer) Jensen, Rebecca Haney, Dave (Marcy) Jensen, Matt (Kayla) Jensen, Jora Andersen, Dane (Jessica) Andersen, Andrew (Rachel) Jensen; great-grandchildren, Storm Haney, Ben Jensen, Mary Jensen, Paul Jensen, Avalon Haney, Zach Jensen, Izzy Tingley-Andersen, Elizabeth Tingley-Andersen, Sebastian Jensen, Dorian Haney, Ethan Jensen, Miles Tingley-Andersen, and Zinnia Tingley-Andersen; many more family and friends.

Please join the family on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 1-3:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A memorial service and celebration of Marcia's life will take place at 4pm at Sawyerwod United Methodist Church, 956 Mohawk Trail in Akron with supper to follow.
