In loving Memory of a Woman of Faith, Wonder, and Quite Joy

With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Madeline C. Swinehart who went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2026. She left this world gently, surrounded by love, prayer, and the presence of God she trusted so fiercely throughout her life.

Born on October 19, 1936 she lived a life anchored in unwavering faith. She believed wholeheartedly in God’s healing power, His miracles, and the comfort found I prayer. Her Bible was never far reach – its pages worn, its margins filled with notes, its words lived out in the way she treated others with kindness, patience, and quiet strength.

She found joy in the simplest, most beautiful parts of God’s creation. Her home was a sanctuary not just for family, but for every creature that wandered near. She delighted in watching birds gather at her feeders, chipmunks dart through the yard, squirrels chatter and play, groundhog lumber peacefully, and raccoons make their mischievous nighttime rounds and deer under the trees in the wee hours of the morning. To her, these weren’t just animals – they were small reminders of God’s creativity, humor, and tenderness.

A lover of classic westerns, she enjoyed stories of courage, loyalty, and frontier grit – qualities she carried her own life. She faced hardships with quiet resilience and met each day with gratitude, prayer, and a heart open to God’s presence.

She leaves behind a legacy of faith, gentleness, and wonder – a reminder to slow down, notice the beauty around us, and trust that God is always near. Her family and friends will forever cherish her wisdom; her laughter, her devotion, and the way she made every person feel seen and loved.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Brad (Frances) Swinehart, Cindy (John) Kinley, Arthur Swinehart, grandchildren, John Kinley, Brandy (Ryan) Roye, Shayla and Kayla Swinehart, a great-grandson: Allen Roye, sister, Jaunita (Frank) Broushak, brother, Harley Collins, all of Akron.

In addition to Madeline’s parent she is preceded in death by her husband Gene L. Swinehart, her mother and father in-law, Charles and Irene (Smith) Swinehart, and her brothers and sisters in-law, Cathy Swinehart, Jim Swinehart, and Delbert Swinehart.

A celebration of her life will 2:00pm Tuesday, September, 1, 2026 at Hillside Cemetery Randolph with Pastor Joseph Smith officiating.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit- gentle, faithful, and full of wonder – will remain with us always.
