Luella Huston, 86, born January 20, 1940, passed away surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving to others.
Luella found her greatest joy in the simple, beautiful moments—playing Randy Travis on her stereo while cooking her famous homemade chicken biscuit’s, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable smells. She loved baking sweet treats, sewing with care, and hunting for hidden treasures at garage sales and thrift stores. To know Luella was to know comfort, creativity, and a little bit of fun.
She also took great pride in always looking her best, and nothing made her smile more than getting her hair, makeup, and nails done by her beloved granddaughters, Christina and Sara—her own personal glam team.
Luella was a devoted mother and is survived by her children: Martha Currington, Debbie Durst, John Huston, Robert Huston, Howard Huston, and Lori Schultz, along with many grandchildren who will carry on her traditions, her humor, and her love.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Cunningham; her father, Tracy Wharton Sr.; and her brothers, Tracy Wharton, Charles Cunningham, and Phillip Cunningham Sr.
Luella’s legacy lives on in every shared meal, every laugh around the table, and every little treasure found along the way. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
