Lucille Thomas

Lucille Thomas, age 77, loving wife and mother, born July 30, 1949 peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026 in Akron, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones. Lucille was a woman of faith who loved the Lord and found comfort in meditating in His Word. She also found joy in encouraging women with wisdom and care. She retired from the Oriana House after seventeen years of dedicated service. Lucille enjoyed fishing, bowling, sight seeing, and road trips with her loving husband, Mike. She was gifted with a green thumb and found satisfaction in watching her beautiful garden thrive. She also delighted in cooking meals and desserts. Her specialty was cream cheese pound cake. Lucille will be remembered for her kind heart and generous spirit. She touched the lives of many and she will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Flinn and Mary (PJ) Robinson; and siblings Geraldine Fleming, Jess "Buster" Wilder, Ricky Robinson, and Jesse Robinson.

Lucille is survived by her loving family, her devoted husband of 36 years, Michael Thomas; daughter Yolanda Wims (son-in-law Dorlan Bell), daughter Rhonda Gaiters, and son Archie Armstrong; stepsons Derrick Thomas and Durrell Thomas; grandchildren Charmaine, Ronald, Ashley, Ebony, Perry, Marilyn, Brooklyn, Serenity, and Archie Jr.; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings Robert (Hope) Wims, Joselle Wilder, Jackie Robinson, and Verdia (Frederick) Williams; special nephew Charles Fleming, special nieces Alease Rochelle Fleming and LaVerdia Robinson; special aunt Rose Porter; special cousin Renee Humphrey and a host of many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm, Monday, October 12th at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:00pm with Pastor Linda C. Isaiah officiating.

Interment will be held at Mt. Peace Cemetery.
